I am one of CJ's church buddies, I have a question. Do you know of anyone in Huntington that can teach 3DS MAX to high school kids? I teach a robotics program in Huntington, and I get 5 free license of 3DS MAX each year. The kids need to do a 30 second animation project but the problem is I don't know anyone that can teach this software. We get the free license but we waste it every year for the past 4 years.
Yeah, it's Michael Brook Sarver...have always gone by my middle name for some reason...

The learning curve for 3DS Max is a bit steep, but I'm not a professional at all...just a learner. I messed with the program in college at bit so I knew my way around. Then, I just jumped right in...solving problems via google as I went. If you are interested in giving it a go, check out www.Lynda.com. Their online training series are the best I've found....

And we don't live in no "West Texas" rural setting. We're only 45 minutes from everything! - Brook

Works great now. I thought I had called you the wrong name... Michael is the given, huh?

What is the learning curve on 3D Max? You been at it long.

Love the line in your bio--bored with the rural life? How rural? We're in West Texas and about 1 1/2 from everything (I mean everything)

Glad to meet you--I'm linking to your blog

Alright guys and gals...my website's back-end is a wreck right now. Not sure why the images weren't linking to the right folder. Probably has something to do with the search engine optimization feature I run, which turns blog posts links into Google/Yahoo friendly URLs. Anyways, the links and images should be fixed.

Larger resolution links will be replaced tomorrow as we are also having some technical difficulties with our internet connection this evening. Gotta love that! - Brook

Hey Jim, Thanks for swinging by. I'm not sure why you can't get the images to load. Anyone else having this issue? - Brook

I couldn't get the pages to come up.

I think I looked at 3D-Max about a year ago after coming back from Dayspring Church in Grand Rapids.

I found Google Sketchup in the fall and have used it a couple of times to model ideas for sets. Thanks for reminding me of the usefulness of 3-D - Jim Drake
